Artist Statement:
I consider myself a self trained painter with a few short-term academic training in Art. I believe I am a Realist Expressionist Painter with an open eye and mind toward Abstract and Modern Art.
The nature of the subjects and my personal interpretation and mood determines the styles and forms I chose to realize my artistic expressions.
I draw and paint Portraits, Figures, Landscapes, Still Life and “things in between”. The sources of my inspiration can be actual scenes I encounter or favorite photographs. As I construct the structure of my paintings, latter stages can be followed merely on memory and use of color and brush strokes freely.
For the present Show I have selected some of my older paintings as well as some recent works completed for this Show. As you can see, I specifically intended to present energy behind the physical appearances. I have incorporated some surreal elements along with more real ones as I usually see these lines blurred.
I am hoping to follow this Solo Exhibition by presenting a series of my abstract paintings and drawings in the near future. I welcome your feedback on my work as I believe it is this communication that helps me to grow in this path I have chosen as my career.
