In the midst of global political tensions and ongoing negotiations between nations, a new art exhibition seeks to shift the conversation — from diplomacy to humanity. Painted Voices is a juried group exhibition featuring contemporary Iranian painters who live and work in Iran. “Touch Art Gallery” in collaboration with “URBANICA”, is proud to present this exhibition for the first time in the United States, the show brings together bold and intimate works that explore themes of identity, resilience, and hope through the eyes of women, children, and marginalized communities.

In a country where freedom of expression is often limited, these artworks become more than visual narratives — they are acts of courage. Each painting offers a personal lens into daily life under restriction, but also reveals moments of joy, defiance, and the enduring desire for peace.

"Painted Voices is not just an exhibition. It is a space for stories that refuse to be silenced," says curator Pezhman Tahavori. "We want audiences to feel the emotional complexity of these works, and to reflect on how peace begins with understanding — across cultures, borders, and perspectives."

The exhibition aims to foster dialogue between American audiences and the rich, often unseen layers of Iranian society. At a time when Iran is frequently viewed through the narrow frame of geopolitics, Painted Voices offers an opportunity to see — and hear — a more human truth. The opening reception of the exhibition is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 22nd from 4 to 7 pm. Please join us for the reception with included refreshments.

About the Artists:
All participating artists are based in Iran and represent diverse backgrounds, regions, and artistic styles. Despite limited platforms for exhibition in their home country, these artists continue to use painting as a vital tool for self-expression, social commentary, and connection. Artists are including:
